What is SmartCompanion?
SmartCompanion is a system which is completely private. The speakers only communicate with your smart-router, you, and anyone you choose to call. It is a voice activated system that doesn’t do anything until you say the wake word (Alexa, Echo, Computer, or Ziggy).

How does SmartCompanion differ from other PERS?
SmartCompanion does not require a wearable device – it only requires the user’s voice. The system is designed for use throughout the home, which eliminates a client not being able to get the help they need. It also allows the user to do many other useful things – such as making and receiving calls from friends and family (both audio & visual). It allows the client to get reminders that keep them safe and on track. It provides entertainment and helps avoid isolation and loneliness. And so much more!
How does SmartCompanion differ from an off-the-shelf Alexa?
The SmartCompanion system includes multiple speakers. One of them is a video speaker with battery back-up (Amazon Echo Show). The speaker designated for the bathroom includes a wall mount. The system also includes a smart-router with battery back-up. Additionally, our system does not require using an application. SmartCompanion uses technology that is private and comes customized and pre-programmed for the client before it arrives. We also have a team of representatives within the USA to assist with the activation.
Does SmartCompanion require Wifi?
If you have WiFi, we walk you through connecting your router to ours, as it does perform faster and more efficiently that way. However, if you don’t have in-home internet, the cellular connection in our smart-router will get you connected!
How long does the back-up battery work?
You can expect 6-8 hours of service during a power outage.
What is the Smart Router?
The Smart Router is the device that protects your personal data and prevents scammers and spammers from talking to your system. You will not get marketing offers, robo calls or be able to make purchases through the SmartCompanion as you are protected through the use of our smart-router.
Who would benefit from a SmartCompanion?
Anyone and everyone! Clients with visual difficulties; clients without nearby friends and family; clients who have mobility issues; clients who are at risk of falling are some of those who have found this system to be especially helpful.
Can I send SmartCompanion as a gift?

What happens if it breaks?
Give us a call at 855-488-1081. We will help you figure out what went wrong. Usually, issues only require a tech call and we can assist virtually. If the issue requires, we will replace the device.
Can I send and receive calls on the SmartCompanion?
Absolutely! Making calls is as easy as saying “Alexa, call (insert name).” Receiving calls requires even less!
How does the 24/7 emergency response work?
Simply say “Alexa call for help” and the emergency response team will be on the line in a matter of seconds. They have your home address and will dispatch emergency services as well as notify your emergency contact.
How many devices will I receive?
Our standard kid includes a smart-router and 3 speakers. We will ask a few questions about the layout of the client’s home to determine exactly how many devices are needed for full home coverage. If additional devices are needed, there is a nominal fee.
