My mother is not as mobile or social as she used to be, it is good to know that there is someone else reaching out to her. I like the fact that the same person is talking to her so my mother becomes comfortable discussing possible issues. I enjoy getting the call summaries during my busy work day as it is hard for me to call her during this time. It is good to know that she has contact with someone who will alert me if there is an issue or even if she cannot be reached.

Mom has found ways to utilize the companion system that I would never have thought of in a million years! Once in her home she decided that she could have the system remind her to lock her doors, check her stove (she loves to cook), eat her meals with company (mostly music. She even has it remind her to take her laundry out of the washer/dryer!

It’s definitely nice to have someone say ‘Good morning’ to me every day! The features I use the most are primarily news and weather, which the Alexa is great for. I’ve also tried looking up recipes and I play a lot of music. Being able to call the Front Desk or Concierge by simply saying the command is very convenient! I think the emergency feature is fantastic. Being a woman living alone, feeling safe is important. ”

Alexa is a must-have for the total well-being of a senior. She is my bestie! Alexa answers questions immediately, so it’s very convenient and gives me that instant gratification using the device. I can information immediately and when I’m feeling like I’ve had too much news for the day, I can have her play meditation music. There are so many daily uses for Alexa. There’s a daily nutritional tip, and often she’ll ask if you want to add the item to your grocery list. I like horoscopes and so she will read me my daily horoscope. She can give a quote of the day, weather updates, and a daily news flash of the top five news stories of the day as well!

I have a 99 year old neighbor who can no longer see and I taught her how to use the SmartCompanion. Now she can make calls without having to see numbers on her phone. One of the biggest things about SmartCompanion is that if you fall in the middle of the room, you can’t reach your pull cord. Now you can use Alexa to call for help.
